'Come to your Senses, Come to Siwa!'
'When 'When you come to an environment like this, your senses and awareness are immediately heightened and you become closer to your spirituality, yourself'
This experience will give you all the space you need to embark on a journey of internal and external exploration and discovery.
It will take place in Siwa Oasis, Egypt.
Siwa was famous in ancient times as a trading centre around the world. Many pharaonic graves and mummies have been discovered in and around Siwa which suggest it has been in existence since 2000 B.C.
The Mountain of the Dead has three Ancient Egyptian tombs with beautiful paintings and Amun Temple in the Aghormy village has many pharaonic drawings.
The Temple of the Oracle dates back to King Amasis in the 26th dynasty, when Siwa was a famed religious centre. In 331 B.C. Alexander the Great consulted the Siwan Oracle, before founding the city of Alexandria.
The Oracle confirmed that he was indeed the son of the God Zeus, hence Alexander the Great allegedly expressed the desire to be buried in Siwa.
Siwa is an oasis of palm and olive trees fed by hot/cold mineral water that gushes up through natural fissures in the rock
Siwa is in Egypt's western desert and is situated 800 kms west of the Nile Valley and 120 kms east of the Libyan border.

Intention
The intention of the experience is to give the participants the space and time to explore their relationship with self and other within an intimate group setting or one to one with a therapist. This adventure of exploration and discovery will encourage and support you in recognising and being with more of your self.
This experience is also offered to individuals who would prefer to work one to one with a therapist for the week and focus on specific areas of development.
Being out of your regular environment and away from your various roles and day to day existence gives an opportunity to experience, explore and understand more of your self and will provide the opportunity to connect with and integrate your new insights.
The work will be for 5 days and the whole trip will take 8-9 days and can be extended or reduced if required
This allows for travel either side of the Siwa experience.
The participant/s will fly into Cairo and will be picked up from arranged meeting point and embark on an 8 to 10 hour drive to Siwa. There will be stops along the way for toilet and refreshments. There will also be an option to stop in Marsa Matrouh for a night and enjoy the white sand beaches and turquoise sea.

Camping inThe Great Sand Sea
This is a trip in which we will be spending most of the time camping in the Desert with camels. This is a great way to reflect and un-plug from your regular environment and find space among others whom share an interest in self development. This option is more about experiencing the journey and having the opportunity to reflect and be with ones own process in an environment where Peace allows your mind to quieten and Space gives endless dimension for contemplation and reflection. This is a great trip for Therapists, Counsellors and professionals who are in need of space and inspiration.

Individual Programme, one to one with Therapist
This is a more tailor made option to suit the individuals needs and for those who would rather work one to one with a therapist. This gives the opportunity to establish a good relationship with the therapist and work more on specific issues without group participation. The individual option will run at seperate times from any of the groups.
Facilitators
The Facilitator for the workshops will be myself Ben Mckie and I will have a colleague to co-facilitate for some of the groups. To find out more about my approach and philisophy please look around this site. The desert treks are about the journey and your own experience and my role is more of an organisational and supportive one.
A sensational experience!
